About the role
As a Consultant in the Canberra office of ACIL Allen, you will work across all aspects of our economic and public policy advisory portfolio, including:
- Development of methodologies and proposals,
- Gathering and analysing information,
- Client liaison and management,
- Research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
You will have the opportunity to develop your advisory skills in economics and public policy by undertaking complex, challenging, and high-profile engagements under the guidance of highly skilled leaders, experts, and scholars in the field.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an appropriate quantitative or economics-based discipline (e.g., economics, statistics, mathematics, finance).
- At least 3+ years of experience in economics, regulation, and public policy advice in government or consulting.
- Ability to work with or create economic models and develop insights through rigorous analysis and practical understanding of markets and incentive structures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently or in teams.
Additional desirable qualities for the role are:
- Advanced analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Developed analytical skills in other analytical toolkits (e.g., R, Python, GEMPACK).
Previous experience in relevant economic modelling areas (e.g., general-equilibrium analysis, input-output modelling, cost-benefit analysis, or demographic/workforce modelling).
