For-Purpose Evaluations (FPE) works with organisations to understand and enhance their social impact by creating impact measurement frameworks, delivering workshops, and evaluating social programs. With expertise across a broad range of community development and social services FPE blends academic rigour with a pragmatic approach.


We’re seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Consultant to lead or support the design and delivery of projects. You’ll work across multiple projects, applying theory-based evaluation, outcomes/social impact measurement, and data analysis to help clients improve services for people and communities with complex needs. The role also involves contributing to business development, client relationships, and internal innovation.

This is a 12-month full-time contract (or 4-day part-time), with potential for permanency. Salary ranges from $85,000–$105,000 + super, depending on experience*. Benefits include flexible work-from-home arrangements, 5 weeks paid leave, professional development, and all necessary equipment.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years’ experience in evaluation, strong data analysis skills, and a passion for social justice. Experience in consulting or social enterprise environments is also desirable, but not essential.

*Note: the successful candidate will be offered either an MEL Consultant or an MEL Lead position. The Consultant position has a salary bracket of $85,000-$95,000. If the candidate demonstrates experience beyond what is described in this job advertisement including the desirable criteria, the Lead position with a salary bracket of $95,000-$105,000 may be offered. The Lead position has increased duties and responsibilities which will be discussed with the candidate.

3. Participation in a 30min online interview about the selection criteria, including a short presentation about your work.
