This is a free event organised by the New South Wales Regional Network Committee of the AES. Our seminar series provides an opportunity for you to meet with AES members and others in the evaluation community and to share and learn from the experiences of fellow evaluators.
This will be a facilitated discussion of ethical issues in evaluation. The issues to be covered include:
- What does ‘ethics’ mean?
- What does ethics in evaluation mean?
- Best practice principles and practice
- Potential pitfalls and ways to avoid them
The session will start with a brief overview of the 'what' of ethics, and then we will draw on the experience of participants to explore ethics in practice. There will be small group work conversations to share their own experience and perspectives of ethics in evaluation.
Keren Winterford, Research Director, Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney. Keren has extensive experience conducting evaluations and managing ethical issues in evaluations in international development.
Linda Klein, Deputy Director of Research and Evaluation, GP Synergy. Linda is responsible for the evaluation of educational activities at GP Synergy and works closely with the research team on various research projects. Linda has broad research experience in health and health-related fields, complemented by a BSc in psychology, MSc in psychopharmacology and PhD in public health
