This is a free seminar organised by the South Australian Regional Network Committee of the AES. Our seminar series provides an opportunity for you to meet with AES members and others in the evaluation community and to share and learn from the experiences of fellow evaluators.

Seminar overview

A facilitated roundtable discussion that explores recent remote evaluation experience, lessons from parallel experiences, and how we can adapting practice to be fit-for-purpose in a COVID-19 context. This is an opportunity to bring your questions to the table, discuss them with evaluation colleagues, identify and share experiences and lessons relevant to remote evaluation practice. We anticipate topics to be covered will include:

  • Tools and methods for remote evaluation, including with communities suffering health and/or economic “shocks”, monitoring and assessing organisational responses, working with local actors/researchers
  • Lessons from parallel experience: disaster response and recovery, post-conflict and post-disaster humanitarian programs (e.g. complex trade-offs between social and economic development, role of the private sector and other civil society actors vs public sector actors)
  • Security and ethical considerations (e.g. how can we manage safety and security for remote consultations - local consultants and program actors, what technologies help/limit)

Participants registering are invited to submit up to 3 burning questions they would like answered so that the Resource People can weave these into the roundtable discussion. Please enter the details on the Topic for discussion suggestion box when registering.
