AES ALERT: 9th september 2021
Life's ups and downs happen to all of us. So chances are someone you know might be struggling. Your genuine support can make a difference whatever they are facing, big or small.
So, don’t wait until someone’s visibly distressed or in crisis. Make a moment meaningful and ask them how they’re really going.
Are they really OK? Ask them today. Your conversation could change a life.
THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?
In challenging times it's more important than ever for us all to say connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. Learn what to say when someone says they’re not OK so you can continue a conversation that could change a life.
You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life.
This may be a difficult time for many in our evaluation community and you may find yourself suffering pandemic fatigue. Pandemic fatigue is very real and very normal, and we have collated a range of useful resources, which are available on the AES resources webpage:https://www.aes.asn.au/resources-landing or via the direct link: https://www.aes.asn.au/pandemic-fatigue-resources.
We're super excited to share the FestEVAL21 program with you. Registrations are now open for the 13 to 17 September FestEVAL and will close midnight on Sunday 12th September.
Building on the success & energy of last year’s FestEVAL, we’re offering a week of online activities to celebrate evaluation: a FestEVAL!
Inclusive of AES member groups, and coinciding with the AGM, FestEVAL21 will include the launch of the AES Cultural Safety Framework, the announcement of the 2021 Awards for Excellence and new Fellows, and the launch of the Adelaide conference theme.
Guest speakers include Skye Trudgett, Sharon Gollan, Sharon Clarke, Margaret Crawford, Mary Abdo, Kathleen Stacey and John Stoney.
As part of the registration process you can choose as many, or as few, sessions as you wish, including the Annual General Meeting (AES members only). Session descriptions are on the FestEVAL Program page.
Registration is free. You can choose which sessions you wish to attend when you register.
Note that each session will have a unique Zoom address. Zoom details will be emailed to registrants before FestEVAL commences - by COB tomorrow (Fri 10 Sep) if you've already registered or Monday morning if you register over the weekend.
We hope that you enjoy the week of activities! Register here!
