We’re excited to launch a new project – and we’d love your help.
The Australian Evaluation Society (AES) is inviting expressions of interest from members (including staff of organisational members) to join a new time-limited project team.
“Quality Evaluation That Makes a Difference” Project Team
Led by the AES Policy Committee, this project aims to establish shared understanding of “quality evaluation that makes a difference” (the AES vision) through the development of an AES policy position and guidance documents.
We’re looking for AES members who will bring diverse perspectives (cultural, professional, and methodological). Whether you're an evaluation commissioner, consultant, user or otherwise, we welcome your insights and experience.
Project Time Frame and Milestones
Duration: 12 months (June 2025 – June 2026)
Key Milestones
- June–August 2025: Project framing and initial analysis
- September to December 2025: Engagement phase with AES members (consultation and dialogue)
- February 2026: Draft position paper shared with members
- June 2026: Finalisation of policy position and guidance to recommend to the AES Board

If you’d like to hear more about the project before submitting your EOI, come along to our special session, 'Quality Evaluation that Makes a Difference' at the upcoming aes25 conference in Canberra: Wednesday 17 September 2025, 4.30-5.30 pm in the Bradman Theatre.
Please note that these are voluntary roles that offer members the opportunity to work alongside, and learn from, fellow members.
