Hear from ACE’s managing director Eleanor Williams on evaluation systems and practices in Australia and how they compare to approaches in other OECD countries. Eleanor will be joined by Lucie Moore, former head of the UK Evaluation Taskforce, who will share insights into the approach to evaluation in the UK Government.

Presenter details:

Eleanor Williams is the Managing Director of the Australian Centre for Evaluation in the Commonwealth Department of Treasury. With over 20 years’ experience working with the Australian and Victorian public service, Eleanor has held senior executive roles in evaluation, research and strategic policy. She holds Masters level qualifications in Evaluation, Public Policy and Management and is completing a PhD with the University of Queensland. Eleanor is the current Chair of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Evaluation Experts Group and founded the Australian Public Sector Evaluation Network in 2019.

Lucie Moore is Director of the Health Impact Evaluation Unit at the Australian Centre for Evaluation in the Commonwealth Department of Treasury. She was a founding member and later Head of the UK Government’s Evaluation Task Force, a joint Cabinet Office–HM Treasury unit focused on embedding evidence in spending decisions and strengthening evaluation across government departments. An economist and statistician by training, Lucie began her career in international development, leading evaluation work for the UK’s Department for International Development.
