Presenter:  Anne Markiewicz
Dates:
5 & 6 August
Workshop fees:
$630 AES members and those from non-government not-for-profit organisations, $890 non-members (incl. GST) 50% Discount for full time students

Workshop overview
The development of Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks that integrate the two functions in a planned fashion have become an increasingly prevalent requirement of the program design and development process. There is scope for considerable skill development in this complex task.  The workshops aim to equip participants with an understanding of the process of developing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks.

The one and two day workshop will present participants with a conceptual model for development of an M&E Framework, discuss design and implementation issues and consider any barriers or impediments with strategies for addressing these.  Participants will work progressively through a document titled Guide to Developing M&E Frameworks developed by the trainer.

On the second day of the two day workshop participants will focus on the development of the Evaluation Plan within the M&E Framework. Techniques for developing appropriate evaluation questions to structure the evaluation component of the M&E Plan will be examined. Consideration will be given to the range of methods for data collection and the selection of data collection approaches to enable the evaluation questions proposed in the M&E Plan to be addressed.

Workshop Leader
Anne Markiewicz is an evaluation consultant with over 14 years experience. She has developed a range of M&E Frameworks including for the University of Oxford UK where she designed an M&E  framework for a 15 year longitudinal study of childhood poverty in four developing countries. Anne has also provided training on monitoring and evaluation for a number of government and non government agencies within Australia and the UK. The workshop to be delivered in Cairns will provide an introduction to the development and use of M&E frameworks.
